Can’t lie — I had been looking forward to this day for over a year. I met Brittany and Steven through clients and friends, and knew right away that we were going to hit it off. Britt is the kindest soul; so creative and artistic, and just one of those rare people you meet who you want to be friends with instantly. Steven is an awesome guy and one of those sweet guys that there just aren’t enough of in the world. Anyway.
Their engagement session might be my favorite session I’ve ever had. I don’t think I could have styled it any better, and on top of that, these two posed together as if they’d been professional models for years. But it was so much more than that. They melted into each others arms and were constantly making each other laugh – and those are the things that make the best photos.
After many, many months of planning and keeping in touch to make sure things were going smoothly, Britt reached out to tell me they were considering postponing their wedding due to coronavirus. It was SO heartbreaking. I know these two were so looking forward to their day, and I was literally counting down the days! I couldn’t wait to meet all their friends and see their families come together, and watch them dance the night away as husband and wife. But the truth was, it was looking less and less likely that it was even a possibility.
But Steven and Britt still wanted to get married – big party or not. The start of their marriage was the most important part of that day for them, and that’s exactly how it should be. So they decided to move forward. Just them, their immediate families and a grandma. And honestly, it was one of the most moving days I’ve ever witnessed.
B + S — thank you from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to be a part of your day and to continue to be a small part of your life. Congrats, babes!!
